9th Italian Snooker Open – Snooker festival in Bolzano
What a weekend.
The 9th Italian Snooker Open in Bolzano has once again demonstrated why this tournament has been a fixture on the international calendar for ten years now.
A full field of participants, an exceptionally strong line-up, and an atmosphere that was electric from the very first break. The hall was filled with a special mix of sporting excitement, Italian passion, and genuine snooker culture – palpable for everyone who was there and also for the numerous viewers watching the LIVE STREAM.
Strong field – big names
It was already clear in the knockout rounds that no one was going to win easily here. Above all, Darren Paris and Gianluca Manoli were in exceptional form. Precision, tactical maturity, and nerves of steel – both delivered snooker of the highest caliber.
The final – class meets character
The final had everything that makes this sport so special. Darren Paris got off to a confident start and deservedly took a 1-0 lead. But Gianluca Manoli countered strongly, showed great morale, and proved why he is one of the defining figures of this tournament.
What followed was snooker in entertainment style:
Paris increased the tempo, playing boldly, creatively, and with impressive confidence. For more than an hour, he put on a real show for the numerous spectators on site—and those watching the livestream. Breaks, tactical subtleties, spectacular attempts to pot the ball – snooker as a total work of art.
In the end, Darren Paris deservedly prevailed.
And Gianluca Manoli? He bowed to such class and congratulated Darren Paris in a sporting manner, hugging his opponent in a friendly manner – a moment that shows what this tournament is all about: respect, fairness, and greatness.
The 9th Italy Snooker Open was more than just a tournament.
After ten years of organizing it, we can say with pride:
Bolzano and 15 Palle live and breathe snooker. And this tournament continues to grow.
Grazie a tutti – see you at the next edition.
